SD Cards and SD Card Reader Writer Sold Separately
Existing Light-O-Rama hardware and a software license is required in order to use this package. The Showtime Central Addon Package does not include a software license or light controllers.
This addon system should be connected to your existing hardware network using a Cat5 cable and will receive its power from the nearest connected Light-O-Rama light controller. No need for a PC to run your show with the ShowTime Central.
If you're not interested in creating your own sequences, add one of our Showtime Central SD cards playlists to your cart along with this package and you'll have a ready-to-play light show when your package arrives; just insert the SD card into your Director after installing your lights and connecting them to your controller/s. If you want a different playlist than those offered on our cards, visit our sequence store and choose individual sequences to download so you can customize a playlist and write it to a card yourself using the SD card builder feature of our software.
A Showtime Mini Director (1 Network) is included with this package. In order to use RGBPlus Sequences, you may need a larger director depending on the number of smart pixel props you include in your display. Learn more by clicking here.
We’ve taken two of our popular products, the ShowTime miniDirector and FM transmitter, mounted the components in a weather-resistant enclosure, added all the appropriate cables, created an easy-to-follow diagram and named it ShowTime Central. Just select from one of our pre-loaded SD card shows (or build your own with sequences from our sequence store) and you won't have to do any sequencing of your own in order to start a light show on your home. Just connect your Light-O-Rama controller/s, install and plug in your lights following our layout, put out a sign telling people where to tune their radios and you have a fully animated display dancing to the music.
The ShowTime Central runs your display and broadcasts the music to a nearby FM radio. Simply add one or more Light-O-Rama controllers and connect the lights you want to be part of the show. ShowTime Central is perfect for simple setups where you don’t need the power of a dedicated computer.
Plug the SD memory card into the miniDirector of the ShowTime Central, tune the FM transmitter to a clear frequency in your area, straighten out the FM antenna, plug the miniDirector into your Light-O-Rama data network of controllers, step back and watch the magic.
The ShowTime miniDirector pulls its power from the nearest Light-O-Rama controller, but you can also use a 12 Volt Wall Transformer if you'd like to put your show on a timer so it turns on and off at specific times each night if you have more than one controller in your network.
Most people put the ShowTime Central high up in their garage or mounted outdoors under a protected area then connect the Cat5 data cable to the closest light controller
Using ShowTime Central in real life
For simplicity we use just one light controller in our examples but you can use over 200 light controllers on the same Light-O-Rama data network. Connect your lights to one or more Light-O-Rama high voltage AC light controllers and attach the power cord of the light controller to a mechanical timer. When the timer turns on power is sent to the light controller and it sends power to ShowTime Central. Inside ShowTime Central the Light-O-Rama miniDirector comes alive, loads your show and starts sending commands to the light controller(s). At the same time the FM transmitter is also broadcasting the audio coming from the miniDirector's SD card.
