In order to operate your light show from a PC using a Light-O-Rama network, you'll need an adapter between your computer port and first controller. Why? The adapter converts the information from the controllers and the information from the software into the same language so that they can work together and operate your show. Plugging a controller meant to be on a Light-O-Rama network directly into your computer with a Cat5 line is going to damage your controller, computer, or both.

For a typical light show, our USB-RS485-HS adapter is a great choice. One end connects to your computer via USB and the other plugs into the Cat5 line that's other end will plug into your first controller.
