The SC485 Serial Connector converts the short range RS232 serial output of the computer into the industry standard, long range RS485 protocol. It is required to communicate between the PC and LOR light controllers. Only one SC485 is required to operate an entire network of LOR controllers. Auxiliary power is required. A USB-RS485-HS Adapter is recommended for new projects.
