Light-O-Rama Product Warranties
Light-O-Rama warrants to the first end-user (i.e. original purchaser) all hardware and parts thereof against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This one year warranty is in effect for all hardware products regardless of the presence of a one year guarantee seal in the product description. Any undamaged Light-O-Rama hardware product may be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund of the price paid for the product returned, not including shipping charges. End-user does not have to keep products selected by mistake or that are not satisfactory. The 30 day return is in effect for all products regardless of the presence of a gold 30 day satisfaction seal on the product description.
Light-O-Rama warrants that its software products will perform in substantial accordance with Light-O-Rama’s published documentation. Light-O-Rama does not warrant that its software will be error free.
Gold Seal Warranties
Many of Light-O-Rama products have Gold Seal warranties that provide for warranty coverage beyond those defined under general warranties. Gold seal warranties are displayed on the product description pages in our on-line store.
For products with a Two Year Gold Seal Warranty, Light-O-Rama warrants to the first end-user all hardware and parts thereof against defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. This warranty covers all components of a product including but not limited to pixels, FM transmitters, etc. There are no exclusions to the components covered when the product has a Two Year Gold Seal Warranty. Failures that fall under “Warranty Exclusions” are not covered by this warranty.
For products with a One Year Gold Seal Warranty, Light-O-Rama warrants to the first end-user all hardware and parts thereof against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty covers all components of a product including but not limited to pixels, FM transmitters, etc. There are no exclusions to the components covered when product has a One Year Gold Seal Warranty. Failures that fall under “Warranty Exclusions” are not covered by this warranty.
For products with a Gold Seal Limited Lifetime Controller Warranty, Light-O-Rama will replace the controller board portion of a product that has been sent in for repair for reduced percentage of the current regular price of the controller board if the Light-O-Rama Repairs Department first determines that the controller is non-repairable for reasonable use. The controller must first be sent in for attempted repair. This warranty only applies to the first end-user of the controller (original order number required). Only the controller board portion of a product or package is covered by this warranty. The controller is the electronic device that is plugged into a power source and a data cable and provides one or more outputs to "control" an electric device. Specifically, with a package that contains the controller board, enclosure, power supply, floods, RGB ribbons, RGB pixels, RGB bulbs, etc. only the controller circuit board portion is covered by this warranty. Failures that fall under "Warranty Exclusions," including customer misuse, are not covered by this warranty policy, regardless of any attempted repair.
All Light-O-Rama products come with a 30 day money back guarantee. This gold seal may be listed on a product page as a reminder but all products with or without this seal have this coverage. Any undamaged and resealable Light-O-Rama product may be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund of the price paid for the product returned, not including shipping charges. If the product has been opened but is still in working condition, there will be a 3-5% restocking/repackaging charge based on the condition of the item and its packaging upon return. The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping to return the products. Opened items may not be returned after 30 days have passed. Digital products or items containing digital products (such as SD cards with pre-set playlist) may not be returned under any circumstances once they have been opened and/or downloaded.
The first end-user (original purchaser) must contact the Light-O-Rama help desk to obtain an RMA number for warranty replacement and provide their order number for the product. At this time it will be determined if the device is covered by warranty or if the device has been destroyed by an event covered in “Warranty exclusions” such as flooding.
During year one of warranty coverage, Light-O-Rama will ship a new replacement device to the end-user and a shipping label for the return of the defective product if Light-O-Rama determines the product cannot be repaired in a reasonable amount of time and the customer has not made alterations to the product or attempted to repair the product themselves. The defective product must be returned within 60 days of receipt of the warranty replacement or the customer will be invoiced for the replacement. In the event that the defective device falls under one of the warranty exclusions, Light-O-Rama will contact the customer to collect the appropriate payment. If the customer has altered or attempted repair of the product, the repair may be considered out of warranty at the discretion of Light-O-Rama (based on the extent of the alterations).
During year two of a two year warranty guarantee, Light-O-Rama will ship/email the customer a return shipping label for the defective device. When received, the unit will be repaired or replaced at Light-O-Rama’s discretion and returned. If the customer has altered or attempted repair of the product, the repair may be considered out of warranty at the discretion of Light-O-Rama (based on the extent of the alterations).
The end-user is not responsible for shipping charges for any device under a 1 Year or 2 Year warranty (with the exception of situations that call under "Warranty Exclusions"). Emergency replacement situations where a new unit is shipped before the returned unit is received can be accommodated when practical, but a credit card must be supplied. The credit card will be charged for the new unit if Light-O-Rama does not receive the returned unit within 15 days or the returned unit’s failure falls under the “Warranty exclusions” below.
Warranty ExclusionsLight-O-Rama will not be liable for product failures caused by misuse, faulty installation, failure to follow product instructions or environmental specifications, negligence, accident, or product modification (such as cutting strands of pixels, replacing comm chip, replacing triacs, removing components, etc.). This includes damage from moisture (flooding, rain, dew, snow) caused by improper installation or usage (including but not limited to: equipment being improperly exposed to the environment or connectors lying in snow/wet grass). Exclusions also exclude lightning strikes or improper voltage being applied to the unit by the customer, as well as all damage to equipment caused by animals where the equipment is not reasonably protected from potential harm.
General LimitationsLight-O-Rama expressly disclaims any understandings, agreements, representations or warranties, expressed or implied, including but not limited to merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, not specified by this warranty.
Under no circumstances will Light-O-Rama be liable for indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages or loss. In no case shall Light-O-Rama’s liability exceed the purchase price of the defective product or service.
Out of Warranty ServiceIf a Light-O-Rama product needs repair after the warranty period, we charge a fixed rate depending on the product and additional fees if the repair requires non-standard replacement parts or labor. Contact the Light-O-Rama help desk to obtain more information about a non-warranty repair; you must supply your order number at the time of contact. Repairs are not accepted at all times of the year.
Digital File/Sequence Refund Policy
SD cards containing a preset playlist of digital files that can be copied to your machine, or digital sequence files purchased from our sequence store, cannot be returned or refunded for any reason once they have been delivered and/or downloaded. Replacements will still be provided for defective SD cards. Digital sequence purchases are refundable within 3 days of purchase if they have NOT been downloaded. You must contact the help desk.
Accidental duplicate purchases of digital sequences are refundable. You must contact the help desk with both order numbers to receive a refund on your duplicate purchase.
Software Refund Policy
Once our software has been downloaded and a purchased license has been activated, no refunds are provided due to plausible customer use. Once a license upgrade has been purchased and activated, no refunds are provided due to plausible use. The demo version of our software may be downloaded for free.
Accidental duplicate software purchases are refundable. You must contact the help desk with both order numbers to receive a refund on your duplicate purchase.
