Using a terminator prevents backflow of data and improves performance reliability and stability per network. Terminators are recommended if the total length of Cat5e or Cat6 cable on your network exceeds 100ft.
RJ45 Network Terminators should be used in the last controller of each LOR or ELOR network daisy chain. The last controller will have a Cat5e or Cat6 cable that connects to the prior controller in the network, and an empty jack. This terminator fills that empty jack.
Our RJ45 Network Terminators can also be used to terminate DMX networks wired with Cat 5/6. It will provide termination whether the network is wired to the ESTA standard (pins 1 and 2) or the LOR standard (pins 4 and 5).
Do not insert a Terminator directly into the port of a Pixielink, Director, or USB485 Adapter.
Do not use on Pixie controllers that already have a jumper on JP4, as JP4 provides the same function as this terminator.
